Greetings, noble Brothers of the Pen!

I apologize for my lengthy absence in the realm of Never. (…where according to Lon, the air isn’t just air, its neverwritten air!)…that could serve as our official marketing campaign slogan. Anyway, as you all know I’ve been going through some rough times, but hey…aren’t we all. There hasn’t been much activity here lately anyway for the past few weeks; I reckon we’re all caught up with our own business. (…and when I say business, I mean women.) :)

Some of us are wondering if she still wants in, others are wondering if he wants out. Some of us are in the brink of the jump; others are suffering the repercussions of the fall. Whether we admit it or not, these muses of our art are definitely the blessing/banes of our heart.

So since we all have our own “Business” to attend to, I’ve decided to officially declare September to be Neverwritten’s month of “Business”, if you know what I mean. The floodgates are open for all sorts of poetry and prose that talks about anything from sweet nothings to bittersweet romance to unreciprocated love. Shakespeare, Neruda, e.e. Cummings…take it from the forefathers of love-riddled writing, these guys know what it means to channel heartbreak fuel into something legendary. I know you guys got some up sleeve, it’s about time to cough it up and who knows, we might even be able to form some kind of sick help group for hopeless romantics…

Alas, Here are the latest changes and updates on our site!

  • Welcome to the new Neverwritten! this is a test layout using WordPress custom design layouts. So i guess you all noticed the new look of our site. I think this theme gives a very light and clean motif. I chose this one coz it fit our column size perfectly, so that we wont have to resize all the images. It was also a very nifty layout with the Link tabs on top with matching subcategories. I also like the main header with our Neverwritten title over a starfield and moon….pretty gay, but pretty. )This one is generally based on white background so we also decided to change some header images and our guild portraits as well. The only downside is that the ‘comments’ area seems to be distracting sometimes so whenever you guys wana make a page just remember to uncheck “allow comment” under the Discussion tab. Hope you like it. Please tell me you thoughts on this on the latest post.
  • I am proud to introduce you all to Ms.Molly Velasco, aka Shindokun, the newest addition to our undead poets society. Molly is one of my colleagues from St.Benilde, a genuine writer and legitimate anime freak. She is the author recent post in the Sketchpad such as the Writer and Watercolor Wash. Lets all give her a warm welcome. :)
  • I’ve been talking recently to other neverwriters about their thoughts on a prequel to the Doppelganger series. I think a solid espionage-conspiracy storyline would be an interesting addition to our collection and would fill the missing action / mystery spot in our story genres. I’d like to save most of the details for the next Neverwritten night session so that we can flesh it out all together. As of now, what’s confirmed is that its going to be set in 1972 during the period of Martial Law and it will dig deep down into the history of spy legend Maddog Cortez.
  • Micheal Stracynski is back! And he’s teamed up with some of the best writters of Marvel like Mark Millar and Brian Bendis to create one of the most controversial story curves of the Marvel Universe. Check out my article on Marvel Civil War!
  • Since i guess we’re just a bunch lazy couch potatoes, its a futile attempt to expect a fresh new article from each one of us every month. From now on the posting of Must Reads, Must Views and so on will be strictly voluntary. There wont be any assignments on who gets what anymore so just feel free to post your recommended material whenever you think you saw or read ( or heard or felt or smelled) something funky and you think the rest of the boys should give it a shot as well. Remember guys, the idea is just to keep a good thing rolling, you never know when a certain story, song or poem could lead you to writting something bad-ass. So post up!
  • I took the liberty of creating a new page under Features called Short Stories. This page is dedicated to house our collection of short shorts, excerpts and off-shots. Stories here will basically be a compilation of the best shorts posted on the Sketchpad section. Feel free to post one of your short stories here or move one of your existing posts from the Sketchpad.
  • If you hadnt noticed i added a new sidebar widget “Recent Posts” that displays all the most recent posts on the discussion board. (….obviuosly.)

Hail, Children of Never!

It truly delights me to see our that our little ragtag bunch is making some progress. I’ve been seeing a lot of interesting content around the posts lately, really proud of you guys! And to top that of, last week’s Neverwritten Nights proved to be very successful. The food was great, the conversation was even better. Not only were we able to convene upon our existing stories, we were also able to flesh out the blue prints of some new ones too. We all owe eachother a pat on the back! (..or a good morning helicopter, hahaha :) ) I’m looking forward to our next session already!

By the way, it saddens me to inform you all of the passing of one of our close friends. As of last Thursday, July 27 2006 my good ol’ Gnosis was infected by Bron’tok, a lethal virus …he didn’t make it. This explains why i wasnt able to post our latest updates since last week. (…well, ‘this’ and a short addiction to Heroes of Might & Magic V to be completely honest.) Anyway, may Gnosis’ soul rest in peace. We’ll reformat on Thursday.

Alright, down to business boys. Here are the latest changes and updates on our site.

  • Major Progress on the storyline of The Film. Thanks to the joint effort of Neverwritten’s finest last weekend we might just have given birth to an epic. Oracle’s provocative tale of the “five-man army” is turning out to be real solid. And we were also able to build the groundwork for a kick-ass sequel. The Eight Schools, Veb Society, Median Thesis, the Schizosophiac, Angelo dela Torre (the researcher), Ricky Saint, Anti-will, Gideon’s legacy…We NEED to get these ideas together guys. I’m really excited about this one. Lets flood the Film’s discussion board, shall we?
  • Lots of new goodies in the Sketchpad! Muchos gracias senior Alistair y Mayari. Im gona post some stuff there too as soon as i get my computer running. Keep the juicy content coming boys! Click these links to check it out the latest entrees Coffee and Melancholy & Edward.
  • It is a new month my friends! As we welcome the Season of Augustus, we welcome as well… new assignments. ;) Please post a comment here as to which feature you want this month.
  • The guild portraits are all lookin’ good! I’ll post Mayari’s portrait later tonight if i can recover it from my dying computer. Im still waiting for yours Alistair. Just message me if you wanna DIY so i can send you the photoshop format. Otherwise, email me the pic and the color scheme you want.
  • In case you didnt know, all the past weekly updates will be moved to The Journal main link. If any of you wanna review some stuff you missed it’s all there.

Guys, dont forget to password protect your pages & posts! We dont want to be spillin’ our seed all around. Just fill in the “Password-Protect Page” tab on the righthand side of the write menu. For uniformity, lets just use our common secret password…if you know what i mean.

If you dont, then your not supposed to know.

Keep the content coming in guys, peace out! :)

Ok, i suppose most of you have heard that Mak and I moved recently to our new place. Bayantel will take a few days to relocate our phone line so we wont have DSL for a few days but i’ll try to squeeze in some stuff while im at school. So in the meantime, here are some sections i’d like to discuss…

  • Marlon suggested that we move “the Sketchpad” to the Discussion Board so that we will be able to post our random stuff without having to edit the previous page. Go to “Sketchpad” to Discussion Board to view the topic. I’ll look forward to hearing your feedback.
  • I sent you all an email about the information forms we need to fill-up for the members profile section. Please send your personal info to my email as soon as you can so we can put some content on “the Guild” page.
  • I need you guys to volunteer for the articles to be featured on “the Journal” page. The articles will be ‘dibbs’ basis so if you don’t volunteer until Friday i’ll be the one to assign you with whatever’s left. Im aiming to get this page up by Monday, so lets try to get our articles together by then. Click on Article Assignments to go to the discussion.

What’s up Neverwriters, i havent from some of you in a while. I hope you guys havent given up the desperate pennyless writer gig for one of them blue collar careers yet. I heard they pay tax…not pretty

So, I guess you’ve heard that were planning to hold our very first Neverwritten Nights convention. A night where all the Neverwriters come together and sit down to discuss the progress of our current stories and maybe even give birth to new ones. I made a post about this on the discussion board. Click on Neverwritten Nights to follow the link.

Oh yeah, I’m gonna be needing you guys to mail me an image of yourselves for the Guild section. It was decided by majority of us that we’re gonna go for nice artsy portraits instead of wacky faces. I hope you can email the pic to me ASAP. Mak and have already posted our guild pics, i think they’re cool….feel free to check out Altair’s guild portrait or Mako’s guild portrait and tell me what you think. I basically just have to plug in your pic to my Photoshop file with the guildpic layout. If you want to DIY your pic tell me so i can email you the PSD file. For those who want me to do it, just send me the pic & the color theme you want and i’ll do it for you. Please attach the JPEG image file and send it to restlessmachine@yahoo or altair.alonso@gmail.com. Minimum of 450 x 500 pixels. Thanks.

Anyway, heres a short overview of our OUTSTANDING progress.

Last Week review:: Alright guys, were back online! Now that were settled into the new place I’ll be able update the site more frequently. And were planning to set a date for a warm & fuzzy house warming party. Hope all of you can come. Anyway, I’d just like to go through the whats happened so far this past week.

  • Changes in the Site – since most of you voted for post style “Sketchpad” im making a Sketchpad category on the discussion board. This will serve as a freedom wall for all of us. Hope you like it, long live democracy!
  • Security update – If you guys hadn’t realized there is a little bug with our password thingamajig. once you input our password into the site it automatically saved the password in its cache file so every time you log-in it exposes all our hidden content. This okay if your using a personal computer at home, but for those access Neverwritten on other machines, please take note of this. TO PREVENT SAVING PASSWORD in the cache, make sure to erase the “cookies” in the Options window of your internet browser

• Last note –I was able to get your feedback from last weeks polls. Some of you from posts, some from YM and others via-email. Which is cool, but next time lets keep all the Neverwritten business in Neverwritten. For our upcoming polls and stuff, please put your feedback under the comments area of that post so I wont have to search through YM and my inbox anymore. Thanks guys. ————————————————————————————————————————-
